Updated European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) Maintenance Annex Guidance (MAG), effective as of July 11, 2024, provides for mutual acceptance of component AMO’s without requiring EASA approval.
In essence, similar to the mutual TCCA / FAA acceptance of Maintenance Release Forms issued in their respective jurisdictions, Form Ones issued by Canadian AMO’s for components, up to and including complete engines and propellers, are readily accepted by EASA, without having a separate EASA approval.
Therefore, Transport Canada has informed all component AMO’s (including Avanti Aerospace & Engineering Inc.), that their EASA Part-145 approvals will be cancelled. In compliance with the updated TCCA / EASA requirements, as of November 15, 2024, Avanti’s Form Ones will not be referencing an EASA approval.
